I’m still working on the embroidery projects I have for Mother’s Day, and I won’t be picturing them beforehand (sorry Mom!). But I do have an item on my Mother’s Day list - rocks. I need garden rocks, rocks on magnets for my new cabinet, and rocks for the little potted plants I hope to get for my office.
This link would be a great place to get a child’s imagination going! http://www.sugarbeecrafts.com/2016/02/painted-rocks-round.html
I’m guessing that, if my oldest son can be coaxed into a rock painting project, I’ll get a Pokemon for my garden.
Speaking of office plants, I found a great idea for my husband’s birthday at Brit + Co. I made him a floppy disk desk caddy based on this DIY Floppy Disk Planter. http://www.brit.co/diy-floppy-disk-planters/
SmArt had a huge box of disks, but I didn’t want mine to be all one color. I chose a few based on the labels- we went to Disney World for our tenth anniversary, so the Disney disk was a fun find!
And I used my favorite adhesive, Aleene’s the Ultimate Multi-Surface Adhesive. The glue held strong after a few minutes, and I gently propped it up while it cured. I was able to complete two sides at a time once I had the base glued to a side. It is an easy project, and the outcome is unusual and eye-catching.
