The boys are having a sleepover at the sitter’s! Last night, my husband and I got to leisurely eat some Thai at the restaurant, and not once did one of us get up and roam around checking out the other diners’ plates. We also made a romantic stop at Kroger for gelato and laundry detergent. It was decadent.
You may not have thought of this yet, but it’s only 168 days until the Tennessee State Fair. And you know who’s thinking that far ahead? The person winning Best in Show this year, that’s who!
I was tipped off to the competitions just in time last year, and I signed up online for my oldest to put something in the Creative Arts competition. It was $1.00. I thought he’d put in some of his finished Perler bead Star Wars designs; he was in a square phase.
But no, he had to make something special for the “art show,” so he spent two days on his Creative R2 from an online pattern. He won a second place ribbon (thank goodness all the kids got ribbons!) and $6.00, and, aside from noting that he did not win a blue ribbon, he was pretty excited.
We enjoyed seeing all the other art in the exhibits. The rabbits were a big hit, musicians were playing, and my youngest made some friends.
