I finally gave up and ordered the yellow ribbon I needed for Donald Duck Day on June 9th, since it doesn't look like I'll get to Michaels soon. I didn't appreciate Donald when I was a kid- he seemed to have a needlessly-bad attitude. However, I now have two characters running with me, both Mickey/Goofy hybrids. So I get it.
I was inspired by Crafty Chic's blog entry to try my own wardrobe for the day.
I've found a thrift store shirt, and I'll have plenty of felt left over from my cup cozy.
We had a wonderful experience with the Cub Scouts on Saturday, and my oldest was so proud of the job they all did placing flags at the National Cemetery.
And looking around, I thought it would be great to bring the neckerchief back. It’s so cool that the older boys get to design the neckerchiefs for their troop. And with the Earth getting hotter, soon we’ll all need a cowboy-style bandana to keep the sweat off our faces downtown.
After the weather held for our service, we traveled to Grammy and Pa’s and brought the rain with us. It stormed on and off all weekend, so it was a good thing I brought some Pearler beads for the kids to play with. Only the kids wanted to play video games, so sadly, I got to play with them all by myself.
I was feeling Disney, and neckerchiefs, so I hopped online and made Donald and Daisy necklaces from this adorable design from Eighteen 25:
I'm currently obsessed with Beauty and the Beast. I saw the original Disney version at ten years old, then saw the 3D version for my wedding anniversary. So of course I saw the remake in the theater, and ordered the soundtrack post-haste.
And I wood burned a spoon.
