The boys decorated their coffins for the year. Last year, Son One had a good time drawing on a cheap wood coffin, and I envisioned the boys doing it every year, getting more elaborate as time passes, with a little fun graveyard to show their progress.
Both of them kept it simple- Son Two didn’t want any crayons to liven his coffin up with some color- but keeping it simple can sometimes be the easiest way to keep it scary. I covered Son Two’s simple pencil strokes with mod podge to seal, since I couldn’t go back and wood burn them. It kind of looks like a spirit floating outside of its final resting place.
